“The seeds we sow will only
be beneficial to the next generation,”
Kamal pondered philosophically quoting
the Late Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji
from Devar Magan. Kamal convened
a press meet to announce the production
of 30 short films, by selected candidates
of his recently held Screenwriter’s
workshop in Chennai. The event,
held at Prasad Labs, was chaired
by the French scriptwriter Jean
Claude Carriere who arrived in Chennai
for the workshop.
The short films will be funded by
Prasad Labs and Chennai will be
the central theme. Kamal revealed
that he will also direct a movie,
further adding that these films
could also be silent ones. “Who
knows tomorrow may be 1000 Jayakanthans
or even Kamal Haasans could emerge
out of this venture,” Kamal
mentioned as a signing off note
to the Behindwoods correspondent.
