February 05, 2009

The Producers' Council has arrived at a conclusion in the Lingusamy - Nayanthara issue. The ban decision was made after careful scrutiny and discussions with Nadigar Sangam

and will come into immediate effect, the notification said. Earlier, Lingusamy lodged a complaint against the actor alleging that she refused to issue dates for Payya after receiving an advance of Rs. 25 Lakhs.

Nayan, however, is allowed to appeal against the ban or for a settlement with Lingusamy, the terms of which are not yet touched upon. Besides, it is also learnt that the Producers' Council is planning to seek the cooperation of councils in Hyderabad and Trivandrum to extend the ban to Telugu and Malayalam movies, the two prominent industries where Nayan is the reigning queen of sorts. Nayan's side is yet to respond to this announcement.
