Kamal Haasan was honored with the
Viswa Kala Bharathi Award at the
22nd Marghazhi Mahotsav celebrated
by Bharat Kalachar. The event took
place at the Shri YGP Auditorium
on December 11th 2009. Dr Mrs YGP
and Honorable Minister Shri Jagathrakshagan
handed over the award to the versatile
actor.
Mrs. Madhuvanthi Arun, who has
been associated with Kamal’s
family for several decades, handed
over a collage containing the memory
of films like Kalathur Kannama,
Raja Parvai, Nayagan up to Dasavathaaram.
She and her husband Arun also handed
over a cheque of Rs. 3 lakhs towards
the initiative that Kamal launched
on the world AIDS Day recently.
It may be recalled that Kamal adopted
1000 HIV+ children.
