The
audio of Srikanth and Vishnu starrer, Drogi,
was released at Prasad Labs, on Wednesday,
August 11, 2010. Produced by Mano Akineni,
for Indira Innovations, Drogi has three heroines-
Poorna, Poonam Bajwa and Pooja. The movie
is directed by Sudha K. Prasad, who has worked
as an associate director for Mani Ratnam in
movies like Yuva, Ayudha Ezhuthu and Guru.
The story, set against the backdrop of North
Chennai, revolves around two youngsters, a
Brahmin and a non-Brahmin whose lives change
for good due to people and situations they
face in life. Veteran actor and director,
Thyagarajan, also plays a pivotal role in
the movie. The trailer of the movie was screened
in the function. One look at the trailer,
we can understand the crux of the movie. Shot
mostly in North Chennai, the trailer has a
strong flavor of violence, drug peddling,
gun shots and the likes.
Two more songs were also screened. Cinematography
by Alphonse Roy was pronounced in the songs
which has fresh music by V. Selvaganesh. The
audio CD was released by the entire cast and
crew of Drogi and was received, amongst loud
cheers, by V. Selvaganesh, Na. Muthukumar
and Elango who have penned the lyrics for
the movie. This was a change from the routine
when we see music directors releasing the
CD and others receiving the same.
Many people, among the cast and crew, spoke
on the occasion and praised the efforts of
the team and wished them all success. Wishing
success to the Drogi team, actress Poorna
recalled an incident with Vishnu on the sets
of Drogi. She said that Vishnu, accidentally,
hurt her during the shoot and apologized for
the same. She added that Vishnu's way of apologizing
is like that of a brother and not of a co-star.
So Vishnu is like my brother, she said amidst
loud screams and cheers from the audience.
Those present in the function were Alphonso
Roy, Indra Anand, and Poo Sasi to name a few.
Srikanth and Pooja could not make it to the
event as they were busy with their other shooting
commitments. Drogi will be released in the
month of September.
