92.7 BIG FM is all set to celebrate the
spirit of Chennai throughout the month of
August with the BIG Chennai Day celebrations.
The radio station will not only salute the
spirit of Chennai but also create awareness
on the need to keep the city clean.
Chennai Mayor M Subramanian inaugurated
the celebrations on August 9, 2010 at the
Big FM Chennai studios by kick-starting
the signature campaign. Big FM started rejoicing
the spirit of being a proud Chennaiite by
playing a specially composed Chennai Geetham,
written by lyricist Snehan and composed
by music composer Paul J, and sung by top
notch playback singers for the BIG Chennai
Day celebrations. The OB bus will conduct
a signature campaign and the collected signatures
will be exhibited at the final show on August
22.
The BIG Chennai Day celebrations will culminate
into a spectacular show at 4 pm on the Elliot’s
Beach in Besant Nagar on August 22, 2010.
As this is the 371st birthday of Chennai,
the show will witness 371 celebrities including
singers, Kollywood celebrities, sports persons
and important people from various walks
of life singing the Chennai Geetham. The
highlight of the evening will be 371 children
belonging to Ramjhi’s Isai Mazhalai singing
along with the celebrities. A fashion show,
highlighting the traditional dresses and
styles of Chennai, will also be organized
as part of the celebrations.
