Nanda Periyasamy is now working on a
novel subject titled Arthanari. This
film has actor Karan in the lead role
and interestingly he will be seen as
a transgender. Speaking of the film,
Karan said that transgender are now
emerging as a respectable clan in the
society and Arthanari will portray them
in such a way that their status would
be elevated
further.
Tamil films have thus far portrayed transgender
in villainous characters and perhaps this
would the first time that they are shown in
good light. It may be recalled that Prakash
Raj played a transgender villain in Appu a
few years ago.
