Hollywood Corner: “Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!”

Rumor in Hollywood is that Quentin Tarantino is going to remake the cult movie, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill by Russ Meyer. It’s a movie that combines busty, lewd, cigarette smoking women who like guns and cars. And he just might cast Britney Spears as the heroine. Tarantino is a visual poet known for remaking retro-style movies, and this one seems like the movie he was born to remake.

Director Tim Burton’s next big project is a 3-D version of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland. Johnny Depp will play its most nefarious character – the Mad Hatter. This is brilliant casting. We’ve seen what Depp in can do in a over the top role like Pirates of the Caribbean, and we can only imagine how fantastic he’s going to be as the Mad Hatter. It will be a live action for the first part, and when Alice (to be played by Mia Wasikowska) goes down the rabbit hole, it combines animatronics.
