Ajith’s new title

Almost all actors nowadays have a title prefixed before their names. This trend has been in the Tamil film industry since long. Interestingly, some actors have two titles. While one is used as on screen title, the fans also call their stars affectionately with another name, as a mark of respect.

The legendary actor and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu Late M.G. Ramachandran was known as Puratchi Nadigar, he was popularly referred by his

fans as Vathiyar. MGR also had another name Ninaithathai Mudipavar, which was derived from one of his film title.

Of the recent lot Ajith has two titles – Ultimate Star and Thala. Speaking about this, Asal’s director Saran said that after the release of the film Ajith will be known as Asal! Wonder what the director is hinting at!
