The Tamil Nadu deputy CM O Panneerselvam's car was reportedly blocked by a group of women in Kuruviyammalpuram near Theni. They protested with empty pots in front of the car. Frustrated after not getting access to drinking water, the women staged the protest. The Deputy CM had allegedly promised drinking water supply which was not fulfilled.
