The diagnostic centres in the city of Trichy, Coimbatore and Madurai reportedly had a surprise health inspection recently. The private centres in the city had been violating protocols in conducting and reporting the laboratory tests. According to media reports, the blood containers were cleaned manually which resulted in inaccurate test results. The Chief Health officer said that the clinics were negligent in carrying out the tests. A 15-year-old girl was treated for dengue while her fever was due to infections in her heart. The girl died in Trichy due to medical negligence, a report says.
