The Bharatiya Janata Party has reportedly said that it will not impose ban on cow slaughter in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram if the party is elected to power in these three northeastern states. All three states, where the Assembly elections are scheduled for next year, have a Christian majority and beef is widely consumed.
