According to reports, a government officer in Uttar Pradesh shot dead a dog for barking at him and at his dog at Moradabad's Kashiram Nagar on Saturday. The residents reportedly said they used to feed the dog and in turn he guarded the area. However, Vimal Dheer, the shooter said that he took the step in ‘self-defence’. He has been arrested by the police and booked under relevant Sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
