A clinic in Kozhikode performs female genital cutting, especially for Muslim women. Reportedly, sahiyo, an organization formed in 2005 by five women who were against female genital cutting in Bohra community found that a clinic in Kerala is performing genital cutting on women. According to World Health Organisation, female genital cutting is harmful both physically and mentally. A lot of countries have banned the practice but India does not have a law to prevent this yet.
