According to the National Centre for Seismology, twenty-nine Indian cities and towns including Delhi are highly vulnerable to earthquakes. Notably, these places mostly located in the Himalayan region which is one of the most seismically active areas in the world. Some [places are Patna, Srinagar, Puducherry, Guwahati, Shimla and Dehradun and these cities have a combined population of over three crores.
