Former Indian cricketer’s father stabbed, robbed in Rohtak

Two miscreants reportedly attacked and robbed former Indian cricketer Joginder Sharma’s father, Om Prakash Sharma, near his shop on Saturday night. The 68-year-old Om Prakash was closing his confectionary shop near Kathmandi in Rohtak when two youths came to purchase cold drinks and cigarettes. After leaving, they returned a few minutes later and attacked Sharma. They allegedly took Rs 7,000 from the drawer in the shop and locked the door from the outside leaving injured Sharma inside. The police have registered a case and a hunt is on for them. Notably, Joginder is presently posted as deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Hisar.
