The medical panel constituted by the Rohtak civil court has approved the abortion for a 10-year-old rape victim. The girl reportedly became pregnant after her step-father repeatedly raped her. Notably, the recommendation comes against the Indian law. The law reportedly prohibits abortions after 20 weeks, except when the mother's life is in danger. The girl is reportedly 22 weeks pregnant.
