Ashwin breaks record for most wickets in one Test season

After dismissing Australian skipper Steve Smith for 111 in the first innings of the Dharamsala Test, Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has broken the record for most wickets in a single Test season, taking his 79th this season on Saturday. Ashwin went past South African speedster Dale Steyn, who had claimed 78 wickets in 12 Tests in 2007-08. Ashwin has taken seven five-wicket hauls this season in 13 matches. Interestingly, fellow Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja is third on the list with 67 wickets in the 2016-17 season.
