ORU CINEMAAKKARAN CAST & CREW
Production: Thomas Panicker Cast: Anusree, Gregory, Lal, Rajisha Vijayan, Renji Panicker, Vijay Babu, Vineeth Srinivasan Direction: Leo Thadeus Screenplay: Leo Thadeus Story: Leo Thadeus Music: Bijibal Background score: Bijibal Cinematography: Sudheer Surendran Dialogues: Leo Thadeus Editing: Ranjan Abraham Singers: Haricharan, Shweta Mohan Lyrics: Rafeeq Ahammed

Oru Cinemakkaran is a Leo Thaddeus directorial with Vineeth Sreenivasan and Rajisha Vijayan playing the lead roles. The state award winning actress is coming together with Vineeth Sreenivasan for the first time in this film bankrolled by Thomas Panicker.

The film is actually a thriller disguised as a family drama. It begins by introducing Vineeth Sreenivasan's character (Aby) as an assistant director and then slowly transforms into a family drama which portrays the struggles faced by a young independent couple. The first half has many light moments mixed with emotional sequences. The gear shifts to the thriller genre in the second half. Even though it is a well-written screenplay, the story of the assistant director and the story behind the thriller are like water and oil, they stand different and the latter overshadows the former.

Lal, Renji Panicker, Anusree Nair and Vijay Babu play the other significant roles in the film. Vineeth Sreenivasan and Rajisha Vijayan look good together as a couple. Vineeth Sreenivasan succeeds to land in the safe zone and pulls off the central character well. Rajisha delivers the right emotions with ease while Lal, Renji Panicker, Vijay Babu and Anusree Nair deliver good supporting performances throughout the film.

Though nothing new, music by Bijibal gels well enough with the mood of the film. The cinematography by Sudheer Surendran has some good frames in the song sequences and creates a visually pretty film. The editing by Ranjan Abraham gives it the thrilling feel it deserves.

While humor, thrills, and performances fall into the positive bag; a small lag, similarities and missing of x-factor fall into the negative bag. Even though the title is 'Oru Cinemakkaran', cinema is not an integral and indispensable part of the movie.

Verdict: Oru Cinemakkaran thrills with unexpected twists.
