Director Priyadarshan, in a recent interview to a national daily, has stated that he is the only south Indian director to have survived in Bollywood. According to him, Bollywood terms him as stereotypical for working on comedies and remakes. He says that all this allegations have stemmed from the fact that Bollywood is jealous of his growth.

Priyadarshan was quoted as saying, “The whole problem is that, unfortunately I have been successful. In the history of Indian cinema I am the only South Indian director who has survived for 12 years and has made 25 films in Bollywood. It is jealousy that leads people to tarnish you.”
