Shah Rukh Khan was detained at the Newark airport by the officials for two hours and the star was subjected to rigorous enquiry session. The King Khan was in the US to participate in the Independence Day celebrations in Chicago and several other cultural events. In spite of the actor submitting his credentials regarding the same, the officials refused to let go of him.

However, SRK was saved by the officials in the Indian Consulate who informed the US officials about the actor and his purpose of visit to the country. A perturbed Shah Rukh said that the confusion was over “Khan” in his name and he was subjected to similar enquiry in the past.
