Jai Ho did not deserve an Oscar: legendary singer

Legendary Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh said that it was beyond his reasoning as to why the Jai Ho song in Slumdog Millionaire won two Oscars. The singer voiced his opinion during the launch of his album Inteha. He added that though he is happy that India has won the Oscars, he could not understand on what basis the song was considered for the Oscars.

The album was released by sitarist Anoushka Shankar 35000 ft above sea level. There are eight

songs in the album, which are mainly romantic. Of course there are some songs on life and philosophy too, adds a source.
