Deepika Padukone as Arundhathee

Arundhathee, the blockbuster film in both Telugu as well as Tamil, will be remade in Hindi. The producer of the original version M. Shyam Prasad Reddy has taken up this project. Sources in Bollywood say that Anushka, who played the title role in Telugu, was considered for the Hindi version, but since she is not a popular face in Bollywood the plan was dropped. Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was under consideration for some time but it did not work out due to call sheet issues.

Now the producers are considering Deepika Padukone for the role. Though nothing has been finalized as yet, sources say that Deepika may not be interested in the project especially if it does not have a grade A hero. But sources close the producer say that their choice of casting Sonu Sood in the Hindi version is final.
