YATCHAN SONGS REVIEW

A fresh sounding optimistic track paves for the beginning of this album. Vijay Yesudas and Ranijth’s strong vocals make this track even more enjoyable. There is a subtle flavor of grooviness associated with the composition because despite its trendiness, it is supremely laid back. Yuvan follows the trademark Hip-Hop rhythm section which proves so fruitful for his compositions.

The album shifts gears to a relaxing mode with a funky number sung by Yuvan himself. The track is effectively layered with piano and subtle treble sounds.  There is a trance like impact this track creates with much needed thump in the form of dub step beats.  The tune is quite peppy and hummable. Tanvi’s soft vocals complement Yuvan’s sultry vocals with effervescent ease.

A folk number sung by the master of raw folk- Anthony Dassan. This track gives the feel of a queer party which touches the best of Folk and Hip-Hop worlds in the so called Yuvan style!  The timely usage of electric guitar riffs is a highlight of this composition.  There is a cool duel between the Hip-Hop beats and local drums which adds like an icing on the cake.

An impressive jazz styled number which is masterfully done with emotional solo, live drumming and passionate piano touches. One can listen to the bass work following the composition with its underplayed presence throughout. Yuvan’s unpretentious rendition is a big asset for this number. He proves yet again that he is the undisputed master of such emotional solos.

The album arrives to a fitting finale with an extremely enjoyable number which strikes a chord between International Pop and Rap genres. Sheezay from Psycho Unit nails it perfectly by giving his confident rendition in the midst of cool Hip-Hop beats and captivating string section.
