Late J. Mahendran, the creator of Tamil film classics like Mullum Malarum and Udhiri Pookal had passed away recently on April 2, 2019. Mahendran started his career as a screenwriter and his notable work as scenarist include the Sivaji Ganesan blockbuster 'Thanga Pathakkam'. He went on to become a prolific filmmaker, delivering some of Indian cinema's finest middle-of-the-road films. This article is a humble tribute to the filmmaker's multi-faceted body of work.
