Suda Sudathan
Singers: MK Balaji
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The first impression that this song makes is that the vocal melody carries a resemblance to a superhit track from James Vasanthan’s Eesan. It is predominantly a synth-pop tune supported by electronic beats but does feature minor instances of Indian percussions as well. Lyrically the song reflects a happy-go-lucky attitude and singer MK Balaji echoes that sentiment quite nicely.

Mamanukku Ennadi
Singers: Nancy, Sarayu, Vasudha
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

A simple yet strong melody is the song’s strength. The orchestration is lively with the springy folk beat, the frequent showing up of the flute and the group of female choruses. The synth groove is sustained throughout the song that also features some nice basslines. This all-girl song features the vocals of Nancy, Vasudha and Sarayu and their contribution is accomplished.

Mala Mele
Singers: Mahalingam, Palani Ammal
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The groove of the back-beat suggests that it could be suited for a tribal genre and the lyrics confirm that the song is indeed about mountain people. James Vasanthan allows plenty of room for the percussions to improvise and play around. The interlude on what could be on the metallophone is a direct derivative of a classic western retro tune. The vocals and the gospel like chorus sections are woven around the groove of the percussions.

Viraivil Vidiyum
Singers: James Vasanthan
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

James Vasanthan croons this number that begins with a mellow piano intro before developing into a big hearted soft rock number. There is a sympathetic tone to the song bolstered by some inspiring and powerful lyrics. James' rendering is quite uplifting.

Kannadi Papa
Singers: Pooja
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

A fast paced and peppy kuthu number that is pretty much generic in idea and execution. Still the vocal melody is fresh and enjoyable. Kudos to singer Pooja who performs with great gusto, giving the track its color.

Verdict: 'Viravil Vidiyum' is the only saving grace.
