While the Bigg Boss fame actress suffered multiple injuries in the accident and was admitted at a private hospital in Chennai, her friend Pavani Velicheti died on the spot. Two other friends who were travelling with her are out of danger.

Survivors who witnessed the accident on the fateful night noted that the car was overspeeding. "It was around 11.30 pm and we were all retiring to bed when the car rammed into the median in full speed. I didn't know that it was Yashika who was driving. Another person who was with her, fell out from the car through the car roof. We didn't notice that. If we had searched her soon, we could've saved her," one person said.

Another person who mentioned that he saw the accident said that they came to know she was Yashika through her Aadhar Card. "The car hit the median and sparks flew all over. We lifted her and sprinkled water. She struggled to breathe," he noted. 

As Yashika was on the wheel when the accident occured, a case has reportedly been filed in three sections against the actress, including section 304 A of 'IPC (causing death by negligence). Police have also confiscated her license.
