Theri and other Kollywood movie costumes get sold online

There is something that should’ve struck every Kollywood aficionado while watching stars and celebrities on screen. Be it Vijay flaunting his Jithu Jilladi jackets or Ajith, his Mankatha white gambler suit or Trisha her ‘VTV Jessie’ black saree or Samantha, her ‘24’ Black and White tube top.

What happens to their costumes after the movie gets done? Is there a possibility for such dresses to go on sale?

According to sources in the industry, usually the costumes are retained by the production house for use in future. They also get sold to costume rental shops. There are also occasions where if the celebrity likes the costume, he/she may retain it for personal use.

Talking to Sathya who has designed costumes for Vijay in Rangu Rangu song from Theri, we found out that it’s possible to get our hands on such costumes! “There are websites through which costumes go on sale also. Recently Theri’s costumes, I found, have been given off to such websites and they are sold with a picture of the star with the specific costume", he says.

It now seems like the fans can get their hands on costumes found in the movies. Kabali’s gangster suits would be a nice addition to your wardrobe. Wouldn’t they?
