One of the most popular actors and Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio will be seen next in the biopic of Leonardo da Vinci who was a renowned leading artist and an intellectual of the Italian Renaissance known for his enduring works, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa.

DiCaprio will be playing da Vinci in the film, and it marks DiCaprio’s ninth project in which he plays a real life character. Da Vinci was born in 1452 and died in 1519. DiCaprio’s desire to portray da Vinci on film is no coincidence. He was named Leonardo because his pregnant mother was looking at a Leonardo da Vinci painting in a museum in Italy when DiCaprio first kicked.

The biopic will release on the 17th October 2017.
