Lakshmy Ramakrishnan on her next film based on the theme of Hindi Medium

Lakshmy Ramakrishnan  recently had tweeted that she was extremely impressed and moved by the Hindi film 'Hindi Medium.' When she was in Mumbai recently, she had got in touch with the producers of the movie.  It was reported that she might helm the Tamil remake of this film, as her fourth directorial, after Aarohanam, Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, and Ammani.

We caught up with the talented actress and director to know if this was true and this is what she had to say. "I actually saw the film and liked it very much. I immediately talked to the makers to buy the Tamil rights of the movie. As I was there during their next film's release time, I guess the producers were busy with the promotional works of that film. So, I did not get an answer from them on the rights. But, I had an intuition that a big star might do this film. However, the film inspired me so much, and I ended up writing another story from the inspiration.

Also, I got to know through Twitter that, Hindi Medium is inspired from Salt Mango Tree, a Malayalam film, which in turn is an inspiration of a Bengali film. It was getting very complicated, and instead of going after that, I decided to go ahead with the story I had written from the inspiration I got from the theme of Hindi Medium. The script is getting  ready and I will start to make the film very soon."
