Maya, directed by Ashwin Saravanan hit the screens last week on the 17^th of September. The film features Nayanthara in the lead and has received glowing feedbacks from audiences and critics alike. An important point of appreciation that the film has been getting is that the director has respected the audience’s intelligence.

Talking to behindwoods on the response that his very first film is getting, Ashwin says, “Right from my short film days, I have always respected my audience and believed that they are smart enough to be always ahead of the film maker. We have stood up for them during many instances while making the film. Now they are standing up for us. I'm extremely happy with the warm reception that the film is getting. I feel like I'm sharing a special connection with the audience. My conviction has paid off”.
