Superstar Mahesh Babu is a big fan of Vijay's Kaththi

Two of the most important hits for Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Ghilli and Pokkiri, were remakes of Mahesh Babu's respective films in Telugu. But in recent times, Vijay hasn't been a part of remakes, after Nanban in 2012 and Kaavalan in 2011. Meanwhile his recent blockbuster Kaththi is being linked to possible remakes in Telugu and Hindi, and the names of top stars such as Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR and Salman Khan have been doing the rounds.

 

In today's event "Memu Saitam – We Love Vizag" which is an initiative to raise funds for rebuilding Vizag, after the devastation by the Hudhud cyclone, Superstar Mahesh Babu expressed his appreciation for Kaththi and Vijay's superb performance in it. He also added that he wouldn't remake the movie.

"I don't do remakes as I feel I am not capable enough. When I saw Kaththi, I could see Vijay all over it and suppose when I go to the sets of a possible remake, I would just be thinking about what Vijay did in that particular scene" - Mahesh added

 

The event has witnessed the presence of several top Telugu film celebrities, male and female, and a variety of programs such as dance performances, skits, talk shows and cricket matches have been organised as part of the campaign.
