Vaayai Moodi Pesavum Trailer Review

Mar 15, 2014

If you were left dumbfounded or even horrified by Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’s teaser featuring a character robbed off not just his ability to speak but his mouth entirely, then the trailer will put you at some ease with its lightheartedness.

Director Balaji Mohan places his cards on the table when he introduces the epidemic of ‘dumb-flu’ that has begun to sweep across the land of Panimalai. As the trailer tactfully cuts through its various characters, each of them uttering dialogues of a theme, it becomes certain that this sci-fi fantasy idea will not just entertain but also offer an introspection on simple human behaviors such as speaking and listening.

We are also introduced to a cast capable of excellent comic timing and also to able performers such as Madhoo, Dulquer Salman and Nazriya, but all their performances seem to come through Balaji Mohan’s vision and for that, and also his amusingly eccentric role as a news presenter, the director appears to be the real hero of this film.
