The faces of Anirudh's AAKKO

Jan 18, 2014

Deepan Boopathy and Rathish Velu's Rebel Studios’ AAKKO, an Anirudh musical, was initially supposed to feature the composer in the lead role but following prior commitments and hectic schedule Anirudh had relieved himself from the acting responsibilities.

Director of the film, Shyam, tells Behindwoods that the script does not restrict itself to a single hero but will involve several integral characters. The lead characters are played by newcomer Geethan, who hails from a modeling background, and Arjun who was last seen in Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer. Lollu Sabha fame funnyman Swaminathan too plays an important part and Shyam says that the audience would have never seen the comedian in such a role before.

The film’s talkie portions are complete with only a song remaining to be shot. Director Shyam says that the film is a thriller comedy set in a single night and will offer thorough entertainment for the value of the ticket price. Shyam also states that the film will show Chennai in a new light. Expectedly, Anirudh’s music too will be a key factor to this film’s entertainment value and the composer has revealed that the soundtrack will be an all out EDM affair.

The first look posters had created a positive stir and posters involving the cast and characters will be released soon, says Shyam.
