We reported yesterday that a British actress, Lauren J Irwin would be playing a prominent role in Superstar Rajinikanth’s next, Lingaa, directed by KS Ravikumar. In Tamil cinema, such foreign beauties have constanly been given memorable roles. Here is a list of such actors:
 
Brit beauty Amy Jackson, who debuted with director Vijay’s Madrasapattinam, is one of the top heroines now. She is, at present, acting in one of the biggest projects, Vikram - Shankar’s Ai.
 
Kamal Haasan’s last few movies have had foreign actors, as leads. Vishwaroopam’s Pooja Kumar is an American woman, born to Indian parents. Pooja Kumar is playing the lead in Ulaganayagan’s next, Uttama Villain as well. Vimala Raman is another such actress with Indian roots but born in Australia.
 
The foreign actor who played Kamal’s deceased wife in Manmadhan Ambu is Caroline.
 
Suriya's Maattrraan featured a foreign actress Irina Maleeva, who made quite an impression in her role as a nosy journalist on a mission.
 
Melanie Marie is the girl who tries to woo Premgi Amaren in Goa. The highlight scene was the lead pair’s chemistry in the parody of Subramaniapuram’s ‘Kangal Irandaal…’
 
Ajith’s Billa 2 had Brazillian actress, Bruna Abdullah in a prominent role. The girl has some Bollywood movies as well, to her credit.

Apart from these women, Kamal Haasan’s Dasavatharam and Rajinikanth’s Baba also hosted girls from Japan.
