We finally uncover Ajith's onscreen name in 'Thala 55'

The media has been abuzz since the past few days about Ajith's character name in 'Thala 55', the under production Gautham Menon film funded by A.M.Rathnam. After investigating in this regard, we now have authentic info that Ajith would be called 'Sathya Dev' in the movie.

 

Thala is playing the role of a daredevil cop in the film and this majestic name sits well on the character. Also, Sathya Dev does have a similar ring with Vinayak Mahadev (one of Ajith's most famous on-screen names, from Mankatha)

 

Gautham had earlier said in an interview that Ajith's character name may well be the title of the film and as of now, 'Sathya Dev' is indeed the working title of 'Thala 55'. With Gautham's fondness for Kamal Haasan and his cult movie Sathya (which he also honoured in his Vaaranam Aayiram), 'Sathya' may also be a likely title for the film if the 'Thala 55' team manages to procure the necessary permission from Kamal Haasan for usage of the title.
