Ilayaraja was replaced by Yuvan in Aravindan

Yuvan replaced Ilayaraja

Sep 16, 2013

Yuvan Shankar Raja, the prolific music director completed a century as a music director with Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani as his milestone film. The young maestro continues to grow stronger with every film of his with a simultaneous increase of a huge fanbase.

Yuvan began his journey as a music director in the Sarath Kumar starrer Aravindan produced by T Siva when he was just 16 years old. Yuvan had composed six tunes for this album and Siva after hearing them, had suggested that Yuvan score the BGM for the trailer of Aravindan. After hearing the BGM, Shiva immediately asked Yuvan to do the music for the entire film.

Interestingly, it was Ilayaraja who was to score for Aravindan and in a way, Yuvan had replaced his dad in his very first film. And thus began the journey of Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Next in the pipeline from Yuvan’s music factory is Ajith’s Arrambam and Simbu’s Vettai Mannan to name a few.
