Rasu Madhuravan loses the cancer battle

Director Rasu Madhuravan of Mayandi Kudumbathar and Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam fame passed away today. He was 44. The director had been battling throat cancer for a long time now. He spent his final hours in Kamatchi Hospital Velachery, Chennai.


The director was working on his next film, Sogusu Perundhu. The project has now been temporarily stalled and is expected to be taken up by one of his own assistants. His filmography include Poomagal Oorvalam, Pandi, Goripalayam and Muthukku Muthaaga .


The director is survived by his wife and two daughters. His funeral is scheduled to take place in his hometown of Madurai tomorrow, 10th of July. Behindwoods conveys its condolences to the kith and kin of the late director and prays for his soul to rest in peace.
