In the light of recent events where some distributors associated with Mani Ratnam’s Kadal have demanded compensation for the losses arising from the film’s below par box-office performance, Kadal’s producers, Madras Talkies, have come out with a press release in which they have clearly stated that they had sold their film’s distribution rights solely to Gemini Industries and Imaging Ltd. in March 2012 itself on a Minimum Guarantee basis.

The rights included both the Tamil and Telugu versions and Madras Talkies have also established that they aren’t party to any other distribution contracts that Gemini might have gotten into for Kadal.  
 

Now it seems, the ball is in Gemini’s court, as they have to answer the distributors who have claimed compensation.
