A day after Syria killed 13 Turkish soldiers while the Syrian military was trying to regain control of Idlib province, the Turkish-backed rebel groups shot down Syrian military helicopter in the western region of Syria. The video of the helicopter collapsing in the air with burning flames has alarmed the viewers.

Reportedly the Russian-made Mi-17 helicopter was spotted near the town of Nerab which was caught on camera by government troops while it was burning profusely for more than a minute in the air on Tuesday (February 11).

Today the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a strong warning that Turkey's military would strike Russian-backed Syrian regime forces by air or ground anywhere in Syria if another Turkish soldier was hurt.

Turkey's involvement in Syria's 9-year-old civil war triggered under the rule of president Bashar al-Assad has had several outbreaks and the recent one on Tuesday where Turkish soldiers were killed by Syrian forces had irked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Therefore Erdogan has declared that Turkey will hit Syrian forces anywhere in Syria if any other Turkish soldiers were killed. "If there is the smallest injury to our soldiers on the observation posts or other places, I am declaring from here that we will hit the regime forces everywhere from today, regardless of Idlib's borders or the lines of the Sochi agreement," Erdogan said as reported by aawsat.

As part of an agreement with Russia and Iran, Turkey has set up 12 observation posts in Idlib. According to aawsat report the setups are intended to establish what is termed a de-escalation zone.
