COVID-19 in America: \"A Great Success Story\" Claims Trump

Although the total number of positive cases has surpassed 1 lakh and the total number of deaths has surpassed 60,000; President Donald Trump has made a very important announcement. He declared that the norms for social distancing will not be extended beyond Thursday when it officially ends.

Reflecting positively on the latest grim numbers of the spread, President Trump delivered his daily upbeat update and his son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, said the administration’s much-criticised response to the pandemic as “a great success story”. Kushner also added that they are looking to “get as close back to normal as possible as quickly as possible” and that they plan on ensuring that normalcy returns by the end of July.

Trump said that the White House will not be extending its “30 Days to Slow the Spread.” Apart from this, he also added that he believes that the cure for the novel coronavirus could be the experimental drug remdesivir.

Previously, the White House was set on lifting the restrictions, from one state to another, in order to revamp and push the national economy after it suffered a great hit during the lockdown. Also, to achieve this, the number of tests being performed on people to detect the virus has increased drastically over the month.
