Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) reportedly ordered a compensation of Rs 2.5 crore to a woman whose parents died in an accident. According to TOI reports, the deceased couple while travelling from Chennai to Cuddalore were crushed to death as the van they were travelling on hit a lorry which was stopped in a no-halt zone on January 6, 2012. The daughter of the deceased couple reportedly claimed Rs 3.10 crore as compensation. However, the court directed the United India Insurance to pay Rs 2.61 crore to the family. The daughter will reportedly receive Rs 2.50 crore and the other members of the family will receive the rest.
