The Vellore Lok Sabha Election was supposed to happen on April 18 along with General Lok Sabha Elections on April 18. But it was cancelled on April 16 due to the suspicion of huge money involved in relation to DMK party. Two months after the cancellation, the Vellore Lok  Sabha Election was announced on July 4.  The last date to file the nomination was on July 18.

Vellore vote counting starts. DMK leads ahead ADMK

On August 5, the Vellore Lok Sabha poll was conducted as per the announcement. DMK, ADMK and NTK are the only three major parties contested in the elections. The vote counting started on August 9 (Today) with much anticipation from all the contested parties. According to the latest reports, ADMK contestant AC Shanmugam is leading the polls with 1,87,750 votes. DMK’s Kathir Anand stands second with 1,74,646 votes. NTK’s Dheepa Lakshmi has secured 9,273 votes.

The results have drastically changed within few hours of time. According to the latest report's, DMK's Kathir Anand is leading the polls with 3,40, 473 votes while ADMK's AC Shanmugam stands second with 3,27, 718 votes.
