STUDENT FALLS FROM STAIRS AFTER TEACHER HITS HIM, SUMMONED BY SHRC

In a shocking incident, a student of a corporation school fell off the stairs after a teacher allegedly hit him. After this news was published in the New Indian Express, the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday took a suo moto action.

SHRC member D Jayachandran summoned Dharani Bai, teacher, Chennai Corporation Primary School, Ganesapuram, Vyasarpadi along with the school headmistress Rajeswari and Chennai Corporation education officer Govindasamy.

SHRC summoned the Vyasarpadi Inspector who allegedly threatened the student’s mother to withdraw the complaint. Reportedly, all those summoned will have to appear on July 31.
