According to a Times of India report, the RK Nagar bypoll at Rs 3 crore, might be the costliest election in India's history. Extensive arrangements, deploying around 2,500 security personnel and installing cameras, etc. have pushed the cost to the exchequer, when a typical bill for a by-election is around Rs 60 lakh. The number of flying squads for the election has also been intensified.
