A private school in Trichy has allegedly punished students who burst crackers on Diwali while appreciating those students who celebrated Diwali without bursting fireworks. During the school assembly, the headmistress allegedly separated students who burst crackers and asked them to apologise for bursting crackers. The Servite Matriculation School management reportedly claimed that their intention to promote a pollution-free Diwali was misinterpreted by a group of people. Parents have lodged a complaint against this with the education department officials on Saturday.
