Breathing Delhi air is equal to smoking 50 cigarettes a day: Doctors

Delhi doctors have reportedly warned that, after Diwali, breathing in the capital city is equal to smoking 50 cigarettes a day. "After Diwali celebrations, pollutant levels were such that it was equivalent to smoking 50 cigarettes a day”, doctors told media. “The bursting of firecrackers is so harmful that the chemicals remain in the atmosphere for many months and are being inhaled by us. Most vulnerable groups are children and the elderly”, added doctors.
