OOTY: BUS ROLLS DOWN GORGE; 7 DEAD, 30 INJURED

According to reports, at least seven people were killed and 30 others were injured on Thursday after a government bus rolled down a gorge near Manthada on the Ooty-Coonoor road. The bus belonging to Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation rolled down the 100-foot deep gorge after the driver lost control.

Reports suggest that there were around 40 passengers on board the bus which was going to Coimbatore from Ooty. The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Ooty. Some of them sustained serious injuries and the death toll is likely to increase, reports added.
