No dog days even as Kathri Veyil starts in Chennai

The period considered to be the peak summer season - Kathri Veyil or Agni Natchathiram, is set to begin on Friday. However, there is a relief for Chennaites as the temperature is likely to be normal, says a report in TNIE. The Meteorological Department has reportedly issued temperature warning to nine interior districts of Tamil Nadu.

There has been no sign of heatwave, unlike last year. Till date, the Nungambakkam weather station has not even breached 37 degree Celsius mark this year. But the suburbs were relatively hot with the temperature reaching close to 40 degree Celsius a few days ago.
