IT SLEUTHS RAID 23 PLACES IN CHENNAI

The officials of Income Tax department raided 23 places in Chennai on Friday. The residence of Chennai-based jeweller Gowtham, the finance company and godown, owned by him are being raided by the IT sleuths. Officials raided 15 shops, owned by the man, in places including Vepery and Tambaram.

The officials also raided the Gandhi Fabrics, which imports clothes from Gujarat to sell to shops in Chennai.

It was alleged that the companies were involved in tax evasion. It is further alleged that the money was invested in various other business. The officials conducted raids at various companies in T Nagar, Parrys Corner and Pallavaram.
