Indian businessman's family pledges Rs 7,000 crore to charity

According to reports, telecom major Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal on Thursday said the Bharti family has pledged Rs 7,000 crore (10%) of their wealth including its three per cent stake in group flagship Bharti Airtel to Bharti Foundation, the group’s philanthropic arm. The foundation on Thursday announced that it plans to set up the Satya Bharti University for Science and Technology to offer free education to underprivileged youth.
